Passion for Orthodontics

Her passion for orthodontics stems from personal experience. Having undergone orthodontic treatment twice—first with braces during adolescence and later with aligners as an adult—she understands the importance of keeping teeth straight. Her own journey had a profound impact on her self-esteem, inspiring her to pursue orthodontics as a dream career. Dr. Maree believes that a confident smile is a gift that lasts a lifetime.

Personalised Care and Advanced Technology

Dr. Maree loves meeting new patients and getting to know their families. Her friendly and warm nature helps her connect with patients, making them feel comfortable and involved in their treatment. She enjoys explaining the significance of their role in their orthodontic journey and watching them grow and develop their unique selves.

One of the most rewarding aspects of her job is using 3D technology to design unique, aesthetic smiles. She finds joy in seeing the transformation and the moment of the smile reveal.

Extensive Experience

Dr. Maree completed her degree in Dentistry in 2005 at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. After working in South Africa for 6 years, she relocated with her young family to Australia and completed the Australian Dental Council Examination in 2012. Dr Maree has gained extensive experience working in private and public dental practices. She completed her Primary Examination with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons  in 2015 and completed a 3 year post graduate degree in Orthodontics at the University of Queensland.  Dr Maree has practiced in orthodontic practices in the public and private sectors across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Ballina. Her diverse background has equipped her with a broad perspective and a wealth of knowledge in the field.

In addition to her practice, she has made significant contributions to orthodontic research and education. She published a research paper, “Clinical expression of programmed rotation and uprighting of bilateral winged maxillary central incisors with the Invisalign appliance: A retrospective study,” in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. She also contributed to a chapter in the book “Orthodontic Aligner Treatment.”

When she’s not designing confident smiles, she enjoys spending time with her two sons, Elijah (aged 14) and Zachary (aged 10). When her boys are not gaming, they love exploring the natural attractions of the Gold Coast, especially the beach.

Highly recommend this practice to ANYONE. For starters the location is stunning, so aesthetic & clean. However, this is nothing compared to the service you receive. Chenay is our fantastic, friendly Practice Manager with over 12 years of dental experience! She is the first person you will meet when you visit our practice. Chenay is a valued  member of the Broadbeach Orthodontic team, and her expertise in many roles around the orthodontic office, including  taking care of patients in the clinic with Dr Amesha! She has a well rounded approach to your orthodontic journey, and is always happy to answer any of your questions!

Ginivra is our warm, caring clinic co-ordinator who has over 8 years of experience in the dental industry. She enjoys assisting Dr Amesha in the clinic, where she is at the forefront of the smile design process.
