At Broadbeach Orthodontics on the Gold Coast, we’re passionate about creating a positive, calm and family-friendly experience for every patient. For some people — especially children or those feeling a little anxious — visiting the orthodontist can feel overwhelming.
That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team…
Malachi, our therapy puppy! Malachi is a Toy Cavoodle 🐾
💛 How Malachi Helps Our Patients Feel More Comfortable
Therapy dogs are known for their soothing and reassuring nature. Their calm presence can help reduce stress, increase confidence and create a warmer, more welcoming atmosphere during appointments.
Malachi supports our patients by:
- Providing gentle emotional comfort during appointments
- Offering a friendly distraction for nervous children and teens
- Helping create a relaxed and enjoyable clinic environment
- Bringing smiles to our patients, families and team members alike
Simply spending a moment with Malachi can help patients feel more at ease — and he absolutely loves the attention!
🐾 Get to Know Malachi
Malachi is a gentle, affectionate puppy with a calm temperament and a sweet nature. He is currently undergoing guidance to help him confidently and safely interact within a clinical setting.
Some of his favourite activities include:
- Greeting patients in our reception area
- Sitting quietly beside nervous visitors (by request)
- Enjoying cuddles and pats from our team
- Taking well-deserved nap breaks between visits
You’ll normally see Malachi relaxing in designated areas with one of our staff members — always ready to brighten someone’s day.
A Friendly Companion for Kids, Teens and Adults
Many children feel more confident when Malachi is nearby, but his calming presence is just as comforting for adults and teens. If you or your child would like Malachi to sit nearby during your visit, simply let our friendly team know and we’ll do our best to accommodate where appropriate.
Patient Safety, Comfort and Hygiene Come First
We understand that some patients may have allergies, sensitivities or may simply prefer not to be around dogs — and that’s absolutely okay.
To ensure everyone feels comfortable:
- Malachi will only interact with patients by request
- He stays in approved, designated areas of the practice
- We maintain strict hygiene and infection-control standards
- Patients can opt-out of interaction at any time
Just let our team know your preferences — your comfort is always our priority.
We Can’t Wait for You to Meet Malachi
Malachi has already brought so much joy to our practice, and we’re excited for our patients and their families to meet him. We hope he helps make your orthodontic journey more positive, calm and enjoyable.
